Event Organisers and MMS

I was asked by a friend recently, how to find more bands in Montreal and contact them... Of course, you can go regularly to different bars with live music untill you find what you were looking for... But if you're looking for something very specific you might not know where to start. One nice site to visit is that of Montreal Music Scene (MMS). It's a discussion board and a lot of bands read it when they are looking for a new musician or to buy/sell an instrument. Some people have posted dates and locations of events that needed more bands to book and asked for a demo or press kit. It's a great way to discover new talents.
